Google Trends is the free service by which you may know what people are searching on the internet. You may get idea what people are looking for. Its the totally free service provided by Google.
Go to www.google.com/trends and enter the keyword in the search box for which you want to know the trends.
For example, I searched the keyword "new york" and get the following trends for the keyword "new york"
You can also check the Hot Searches in Google Trends
For Example Today's (June 8 2011) Hot Searches are
1. meredith vieira
2. solar flare
3. opec
4. bonnaroo
5. today show
6. gabrielle union
7. cta
8. mediterranean diet
9. tila tequila
